Cloudcroft’s “Mardi Gras in the Clouds” is an annual event in March in the village of Cloudcroft. Residents and visitors alike line the length of Burro Street to catch some beads and enjoy a feast for the eyes at the “Fat Tuesday” parade. There is always plenty of food, fun, and face painting to be had over the festival weekend, complete with fancy costumes, dancing, live music, and fantastic Cajun’ cookin! The event offers all the fun of the traditional Mardi Gras festivities of New Orleans in a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere.
For more information, call the Cloudcroft Chamber of Commerce at (575) 682-2733, visit www.coolcloudcroft.com, or pick up a February print edition of the latest Mountain Monthly!
